October 16th, 2010 THE PINNACLE FUND 7TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
It was “all for our kids” when The Pinnacle Fund held its 7th Annual Golf Tournament “Tee Off for Our Kids!” on Saturday, October 16th at the Cimarron Golf Resort, and over $7,000 was raised to benefit the schools in the Palm Springs Unified School District.
The presenting sponsor for the Tournament was Desert Regional Medical Center with other key sponsors that included Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries, Jessup Auto Plaza, Lumpy’s, THE DESERT SUN, and Dale Scott & Company among others.
Over 68 golfers were part of 17 teams competing to win prizes with each team representing two PSUSD schools. For the winning teams, $500 in technology prizes including such items as iPads; Canon digital cameras, camcorders and photo printers; Brother and Dell printers; Sony Camcorders; and Interwrite MOBI were awarded each of the two schools the teams represented as follows:
The Buzz Factory Team with Captain Mark Anderson took top honors representing Edward Wenzlaff and Two Bunch Palms Elementary Schools, Desert Hot Springs.
The City of Desert Hot Springs Team with Captain Scott Matas representing Desert Hot Springs High School and Desert Springs Middle School, Desert Hot Springs.
The Nellie Coffman Middle School Team with Captain Brian Murray representing Nellie Coffman Middle School, Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs Alternative Center, Desert Hot Springs.
Additionally, Flip Cameras were awarded to the following schools: Raymond Cree Middle School with Captain Tony Signoret representing Raymond Cree Middle School, Palm Springs and Ramon Alternative Center; MSA Consulting with Captain Bob Smith representing Cathedral City Elementary School, Cathedral City and Sunny Sands Elementary School, Cathedral City; City of Cathedral City with Captain Stan Henry representing Cathedral City High School and James Workman Middle School, Cathedral City.
The weather was picture-perfect and the Cimarron Golf Resort and golf course were wonderful. Congratulations and a big thank-you to all 17 participating golf teams. And just remember, the successful Pinnacle Fund 7th Annual Golf Tournament was “all for our kids!”
