Our Schools
We are fortunate to have an outstanding Palm Springs Unified School District Governing Board, Staff and team of Teachers. We have an excellent infrastructure upon which to build. However, we face significant challenges.
Riverside County and the Coachella Valley are among the fastest growing regions in the United States.
We are attracting more young families than ever before!
Our school attendance figures are growing rapidly!
And the needs of our student population are becoming greater and more diverse!
Too many of our students drop out of high school!
Many of the District’s students are learning English as a second language!
Seventy percent of the District’s students are eligible for government-subsidized free or reduced cost meals.
The State of California falls consistently below the national average in per-pupil expenditures even in the best of economic times.
The current budget crisis has forced deep, crippling cuts on our schools.
If we want our communities to prosper, we cannot abandon public education to the ups and downs of government funding. We must take on the challenge of actively ensuring that all our children are prepared for the careers and challenges of the 21st Century.
And we can do that by Putting Arts and Technology Back in the Classroom.
By garnering local support, creatively finding new partnerships in the private sector, reaching outside of our communities to larger foundations, The Pinnacle Fund hopes to create increased, sustainable financial support that can guarantee educational excellence for each child regardless of the current state of the economy.
Remember: The artists and innovators of tomorrow are being educated today!
